Jan Markell
Jan is the founder and Director of Olive Tree Ministries, Inc. She became a Christian as a young girl under the ministry of Jewish evangelist Dr. Hyman Appelman. She has been in Messianic, prophecy, or Israel-related ministry since 1975 when Jan began in ministry with "Jews For Jesus". She has also served on the staff of the "International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem."

Jan served on the original staff of the first Messianic Jewish Congregation of the Twin Cities in 1980. At that time there were only six in the world. She is recognized as a pioneer in the Messianic movement.
She has written eight books and over 300 articles for publication appearing in many periodicals around the world. Her books have sold a total of a half-million copies. (Go to her books).
Jan’s newsletter began being published in 1993. She also broadcasts a weekly radio program on Saturdays from 9 – 11 AM and Sundays, 12 – 2 PM on AM980 KKMS. "Understanding the Times", formerly "Prophetic Views Behind the News" is heard in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area and surrounding 60 mile radius. In November, 2003, the radio ministry expanded. She has also produced nine videos and dozens of audiotape teaching cassettes that have sold thousands of copies. (Go to videos)

Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that salvation of lost and sinful human beings and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. This salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and not as a result of good works.
We believe in the ever-present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved enter the resurrection of life, and they that are lost receive the resurrection unto judgment.
We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be proclaimed "to the Jew first and also to the Greek" - that is to all peoples.
