Lifetime Movie Casts Christians in Ugly Role
--> Posted to Culture_Decline for January, 2009

The Lifetime Channel is airing a controversial new movie this weekend in which conservative Christian parents shoulder the blame after their gay-identified son commits suicide. "Prayers for Bobby," based on a true story from the 1970s, stars Sigourney Weaver.

Family advocates are concerned the film tells only half of the story, leaving out the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.

"Gay Fascists" Storm Church, Attack Members
--> Posted to Culture_Decline for November, 2008

Homosexual activists recently attacked a Michigan church during its worship service.

The attack occurred at Mount Hope Church in Lansing, Michigan, by a group of self-described homosexual anarchists called "Bash Back!" Susan Fani of the Catholic League describes what happened.

"Outside they were chanting 'Jesus was a homo' on a megaphone. They were beating on buckets, presumably to drown out what the pastor was saying inside the church, and carrying an upside-down pink cross," she explains. "They set off the fire alarm. They unfurled this big banner because they apparently were hiding in an unused part of the church, like the balcony area."

School holds surprise 'Gay' Day for kindergartners

Parents outraged at public elementary's secretive 'coming out' event

WorldNetDaily

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Some parents are shocked to find their children are learning to be homosexual allies and will participate in "Coming Out Day" at a public elementary school tomorrow – and they claim the school failed to notify parents.

One mother of a kindergartner who attends Faith Ringgold School of Art and Science, a K-8 charter school in Hayward, Calif., said she asked her 5-year-old daughter what she was learning at school.

The little girl replied, "We're learning to be allies."

It’s a move that some say is “indoctrination.”

Evangelicals See Moral Decline in Wall Street Decline
--> Posted to Culture_Decline for October, 2008

DALLAS (Reuters) - Conservative U.S. Christians say the culture has gone to hell and it has taken the economy and Wall Street down with it.

It is a view which outsiders may find puzzling but has wide resonance in the U.S. heartland: the notion that moral decay and a lost sense of responsibility has brought on the worst banking and credit crisis since the Great Depression.

Such a view helps explain the unpopularity in conservative Christian circles -- which have a big influence on the Republican Party -- of a $700 billion bailout plan which the U.S. House of Representatives rejected on Monday, rocking financial markets.

France Pushes for Legalization of Sodomy
--> Posted to Culture_Decline for September, 2008

A push will be under way soon at the United Nations to advance the activist homosexual agenda.

France is currently president of the European Union, and Austin Ruse of Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM) believes they will try to give the pro-homosexual movement some clout. "In their role as the president of the European Union for the next six months, France has announced that they are going to push for a political declaration in the General Assembly, calling for the decriminalization of sodomy," Ruse explains.

259 Corporations Honored for Gay Support
--> Posted to Culture_Decline for September, 2008

The newly released Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index, which ranks hundreds of businesses on their "treatment" of employees who have chosen homosexual, lesbian, bisexual and transgender lifestyles, awards a record 259 corporations perfect scores, including newcomers Campbell's Soup and Target.

The total in the 2009 report is up one-third from the 195 corporations so honored in 2008, according to the Human Rights Campaign, which explained that now an estimated nine million workers "are protected from employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression because of their employers' policies on diversity & inclusion, training, health care, and domestic partnership benefits."

Jonathan Falwell: 'Our nation has lost any clear notion of who Jesus is'

Posted: July 26, 2008

By Jonathan Falwell

"Then Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do'" (Luke 12:34).

If you have been watching television recently, you may have seen a commercial for a movie titled, "Hamlet 2," which includes the song, "Rock Me, Sexy Jesus."

Here is an excerpt:

Rock me, rock me, rock me sexy Jesus
He died for our sins, you gotta believe us
Rock me, rock me, rock me sexy Jesus
all night long.

In the movie, written and directed by gay filmmaker Andrew Fleming, a high school teacher writes a sequel to Shakespeare's drama, in which Jesus brings Hamlet back to life to perform in musicals.

Prepping Kids for Sex Change--Colson

He has been called “demonic,” “barbaric,” and has been compared to Nazi doctors. And when you read about his work, it is easy to see why Americans are so outraged. Dr. Norman Spack is a pediatric endocrinologist at Boston Children’s Hospital. Not long ago, he opened a clinic for what he terms “transgendered” children. Incredibly, he is giving kids as young as seven drugs that delay the onset of puberty—the first step in sex-change surgery when they are older.

Evolving Standards of Indecency--Limbaugh
--> Posted to Culture_Decline for June, 2008

The Supreme Court's barring of the death penalty for child rapists in Kennedy v. Louisiana underscores the hazards in the court's abandonment of moral absolutes in favor of "evolving standards of decency" and the court's unbridled arrogance in substituting its subjective judgment for the legislatively enacted will of the people.

In Kennedy, the court reversed the decision of the Louisiana Supreme Court to uphold the capital punishment of a convicted child rapist, holding that the Eighth Amendment's cruel and unusual punishment clause prohibits executing such offenders "where the crime did not result, and was not intended to result, in the victim's death."

The Aftershocks of Gay Marriage

by Gary Bauer (more by this author)
Posted 05/30/2008 ET

Journalists often talk about whether a story has “legs.” Whether it has the ability to walk forward and affect events weeks or months into the future.

Astonishingly, there’s been little talk about the long-term effects of the California Supreme Court’s legalization of same-sex marriage. But, looking beyond the ruling’s most obvious implication, the redefinition of marriage, the decision foreshadows a nation in which all citizens will not only be asked to tolerate same-sex marriage, but be required to promote it. Going the Way of Rome--Farah

They say those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I believe the U.S. is slouching toward Rome – and a Cicero is nowhere to be found.

Where are we today compared to the empire that lasted 500 years?

* National debt: $10 trillion

* U.S. federal budget over $3 trillion. That's 50 percent higher than it was in 2000.

* Trade deficit: $58 billion

* No meaningful borders, with record immigration levels and no chance for assimilation

* Total breakdown of education system

* No common faith or unifying moral principles that bind the nation together

* Even age-old institutions like marriage and parenthood are being redefined

* In a time of relative peace, our military forces are stationed in more than 100 foreign nations

Exclusive: Greg Laurie compares famine-struck Israelites to today's modern society

Posted: February 23, 2008

It seems like every time we read what is happening in our world today, there is a lot of bad news. I think we all could use some good news in a bad world, don't you?

The Old Testament talks about a dark time in Israel's history when good news was in short supply as well. They had fallen on hard times because of their disobedience to God. A famine had swept the land. Things were so bad and food was so scarce that people had resorted to eating things like donkeys' heads and bird dung. Some had even turned to cannibalism.

Devolving Standards of Decency

TOWNHALL

Recently, a young woman came by my office to discuss my opposition to abortion. Two of her friends had already had abortions though she had not. She was motivated to visit me by a discussion in her Women’s Studies class – one that broached the controversial topic of abortion and rape.

The feminist teaching the class was one affiliated with our Women’s Resource Center – an office that seeks to win the abortion debate by ensuring that it never actually takes place. The feminists figure that simply maintaining the status quo will look a lot like winning a “debate” to those unaware of the extent of feminist opposition to the First Amendment. They also seek to win the abortion “debate” by using the most extreme cases to justify abortion for the sake of convenience.

The Unspeakable American Culture
--> Posted to Culture_Decline for October, 2007

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | In a recent speech at the National Press Club, Katie Couric expressed somber disapproval of the jingoistic excesses after 9/11. Among the things that vexed her: "The whole culture of wearing flags on our lapel and saying 'we' when referring to the United States." From what I can tell, nobody among the journalistic swells bothered to ask, "Who isn't 'we,' Kemo Sabe?"

I don't want to revisit those supposedly Orwellian flag pins, which sat so heavily on so many journalistic lapels. But it's worth recalling that during World War II, civilian correspondent Walter Cronkite — whose anchor job Couric now holds — gladly wore a uniform, not just a pin, and subjected himself to military censors. He also used, I'm sure, the word "we" when referring to Americans.

America's Moral Infrastructure is Heaving

The terrible news out of Minneapolis about the collapse of a crowded bridge was only the latest news story to document the seriously decaying state of America’s infrastructure. Underneath the ground we live on and drive on is the structure that enables all Americans to go about their business with the assurance of clean water, safe highways, sanitation and so forth. A recent story from USA Today detailed the struggle in American cities to pay for the overhauls necessary for things like new highways, bridges, and steam pipes that are quickly failing.

Five Decades of Decline

Old America’s knowledge of the Bible remained fairly strong for the first 170 or so years from the Continental Congress. Abraham Lincoln was perhaps America's most "biblical" president." Historian William Wolf noted that no president has ever had the detailed knowledge of the Bible that Lincoln had. Woodrow Wilson, another intensely biblical president, spoke in biblical terms when he took America into the First World War--on behalf of freedom. Even after the end of World War II knowledge of the Bible, and dependence on it as a shaper and molder of American destiny was strong.

When Vulgarians Seize a Culture

When unwashed, obscenity-spewing comedian George Carlin was arrested at Summerfest in Milwaukee back in 1972, it was because of the moral outrage of a police officer named Elmer Lenz. His wife and his little boy were in the audience, and he had the temerity to resent the filthy language hitting them in the face. Being a decent man, he got up to do something about it and reported it to a senior officer who arrested the comedian. Now, all these years later, he's gotten over it. The whole episode doesn't matter anymore. How very sad that it doesn't.

Wrecking America: A Bipartisan Pursuit
By Alan Nathan

The vile and disgusting truth about both political parties is that they marginalize all of us by empowering the government to bully individuals with intrusive legislation. If their druthers were any more unchecked, Republicans would harm the collective good in the name of individual freedom while Democrats would assault individual freedom in the name of the collective good. Consequently, the only existing check against each is their perpetual tug of war with one another, and that leaves us with nothing but the pathetic lesser of two evils. View Full Article

If Christians Fail, America Will Fail--Feder, C.T.

'If Christians Fail, America Will Fail'

An interview with the outspoken president of Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation.

Don Feder, a former Boston Herald writer and syndicated columnist, is president of Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation, an advocacy group that started in April. Stan Guthrie, CT's senior associate news editor, interviewed him.

The Jewish people have the Anti-Defamation League, and you have started an "anti-defamation league" for Christians. Why?

The Anti-Defamation League has come up before. It was started more than a hundred years ago to respond to anti-Semitism. Unfortunately, it's changed over time. It's one of many "mainline" organizations that basically have been taken over by liberals. And today, rather than fighting anti-Semitism, per se, a lot of what it does has nothing to do with combating anti-Semitism, but rather promoting the Left's agenda.

The Real Culture of Corruption--Michael Reagan

The Real Culture of Corruption
By Michael Reagan

John Gibson asked me the other day on Fox TV why hordes of Mexicans flee their homeland and enter the U.S. illegally. My answer: the cancer of corruption that afflicts every level of Mexican society and restricts even the smallest forms of economic opportunity for the poorest Mexicans.

I said that Mexico has everything to make it a prosperous First World country. They have minerals, they have agriculture, oil, tourism - everything they need to rank high among First World countries. All that stands in their way is corruption.

Mexico is a corrupt nation with a corrupt government from top to bottom, and until the U.S. and President Bush stand up and point a finger - as my dad did at the evil empire - and say you have to eliminate corruption if you want to keep your people home, the corruption will continue and so will the flow of illegal aliens fleeing it.

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Dr. Theodore Dalrymple, a contributing editor to City Journal and the author of his new collection of essays Our Culture, What's Left of It: The Mandarins and the Masses.

FP: Dr. Theodore Dalrymple, welcome to Frontpage Magazine. It is a pleasure to have you with us.

Dalrymple: Thank you very much for having invited me.

FP: It's hard to know where to start Dr. Dalrymple, as your essays evoke so many profound themes.

I guess we can begin with your observations on the root causes of many of our social ills. You discuss how in your practise as a doctor you have confronted a growing pathology in our culture within which there is an assumption that “one’s state of mind, or one’s mood, is or should be independent of the way one lives one’s life.” You connect this to people confusing unhappiness with depression. Can you talk a bit about this?

Crom's group of 50 members, formed a couple of years ago, was issued a permit Thursday to hold the event at New Port Richey's popular Sims Park next month.

Now that AIDS has spread across the whole culture, including heterosexuals of both sexes, the politically correct response is to ignore its principle method of transmission.
