Terrorism

TerrorismTowards the end of the age, “men’s hearts are to fail them for fear”. That is the goal of the world’s terrorists whose targets are almost always innocent people. Also, an “end-time” characteristic is to be the increase in violence. Many believe that something happened in the heavenlies on 9/11. Certainly a new evil and enemy was exposed: Radical Islam and their goal to wipe out the free world and utterly destroy particularly America and Israel. All of this makes the world long for a “man with a plan”, “Mr. Fix-It”, also known as the Antichrist, who likely waits in the wings to eradicate these seemingly unsolvable problems.

The Educated Muslim Terrorist - January 20

East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet. - Rudyard Kipling

Nidal Hasan, Abdulmutallab and Humam al-Balawi are jihadists who were educated and came from privileged middle- and upper-class backgrounds. Hasan was an American-trained U. S. Army doctor, Abdulmutallab was a London engineering student and the son of a wealthy Nigerian banker, and double-agent Dr. Humam al-Balawi was a member of the Jordanian professional class.

Top 10 Disasters of Flight 253 - January 5

Top 10 Disasters of Flight 253:

[1] Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is on a terrorist watch list and banned from the U.K. His father has warned U.S. authorities about him. He has no passport, checks no luggage and pays for a one-way ticket in cash. He is allowed to board Northwest Airlines Flight 253.

As the farcical and almost-tragic facts about the Nigerian-Muslim terror suspect play out, one thing has become crystal clear: Your government can't protect you from a terrorist attack. Worse, when the next one hits - and only delusional elected officials would deny this certainty - you are on your own.

Homeland insecurity: More luck than confidence

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano came in for some well-deserved criticism for declaring over the weekend that "the system worked" with respect to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's effort to blow up the plane he was flying from Amsterdam to Detroit. By Monday, she was backpedaling, acknowledging that "our system did not work in this instance."

Terror 2010 - Oliver North - January 1

Thank God for wardrobe malfunctions. On Dec. 22, 2001, Richard Reid failed in an attempt to blow up American Airlines Flight 63 using 50 grams of the explosive PETN and became known as "the shoe-bomber." Since then, we have all had to remove our footwear prior to boarding commercial aircraft bound for U.S. airports.

After the Christmas Day near disaster in Detroit, it is time for Americans to demand effective anti-terrorist actions.

Over eight years after 9/11 and 30 years after the Iranian illegal seizure of the United States embassy and the 444 day Iranian hostage crisis, Washington is still avoiding being intellectually honest about the war we are in.

The Threat at Home - December 7

As the United States turns its attention to security threats abroad, the disturbing trend of extremism in America?s Somali communities is a reminder that there are also real and present dangers at home.

A growing body of evidence suggests that Somali communities in the Unites States have become fertile ground for terrorist groups to recruit and implant operatives. On November 23, the federal government announced [1] eight more indictments of Somali-Americans in Minnesota on charges of recruiting members of their community to join the al-Shabaab terrorist organization in Somalia. This brings to 14 the number of Somalis from Minnesota who have been indicted for helping the Al-Qaeda-linked group. . .

The concern over extremist elements in the Somali community is not limited to Minnesota. The FBI is worried [5] about the community of 6,000 living in the Washington D.C. area. The Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, which was attended [6] by two of the 9/11 hijackers and the Fort Hood shooter, has many Somali attendees.

A battle in the war against radical Islam in Detroit was briefly waged on October 28 when the FBI engaged in a deadly shootout with an extremist imam refusing to be arrested. The imam was a leader in "Ummah," meaning "the brotherhood," a group said to consist of mostly African-Americans, many of whom converted in prison. This group isn't the only one trying to create an Islamic state within the borders of the U.S., and this shoot-out should be expected, unfortunately, to be a sign of more violent conflict coming down the line in this country with Islamic militant groups.

Humour will be the legal defense in the future trial for a Chicago man arrested last week on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks in Denmark and India. The lawyer for Tahawwur Hussain Rana, 48, a Canadian national originally from Pakistan, claims his client thought the terrorist plot was all just a lark and that he was fooled by his friend and co-accused David Coleman Headley, 49.

But what the two men allegedly had in mind was anything but funny.

Detroit Jihad - Robert Spencer - October 30

Luqman Ameen Abdullah, the imam of Detroit's Masjid Al-Haqq (Mosque of Truth), was killed Wednesday in a shootout with FBI agents. The agents were trying to arrest him on charges of conspiracy, receipt of stolen goods, firearms offenses and more. Agents also arrested eight mosque members; then Thursday, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police caught Abdullah's son, Mujahid Carswell. Two other accused jihadists also fled, and have not yet been found.
