Islam & Arabs

Daniel 11:5 says that the “King of the South”, the Arabs, “will grow strong.” They have since the term “petrol politics” became so important. The Bible said that the Arab’s “hand would be against everyone” and that he would be as a “wild donkey” (Gen. 16:12). But God promised to multiply the descendents of the Arabs (Genesis 16:10), and bless them. He planted their tents on the oil wells of the earth! But the 22 nations surrounding Israel are determined to exterminate her.

Israel: Arab world not ready for democracy
In the West, the “Arab Spring” has been hailed as the rise of democracy and personal freedom in the Arab Middle East. But in reality, the Arab Spring has given rise to the kind of Islamist forces that seized power in Iran’s ostensibly pro-democracy movement in 1979.
Israel’s deputy prime minister and former army chief, Moshe Ya’alon, told reporters last month that the problem is Western powers instinctively promote and support pro-democracy movements as though elections alone will give birth to democratic freedoms.

Egypt’s Sham Election – Pipes
According to Egypt’s elections committee, the Muslim Brotherhood won 37 percent of the vote of the first round of voting in Egypt; and the Salafis, who promote a yet more extreme Islamist program, won 24 percent, giving them together a jaw-dropping 61 percent of the vote.

The Dangers of Democracy
The parliamentary elections that have begun in Egypt will impress only the most starry-eyed of democracy champions. These are the people who, like Senator Joe Lieberman?, think that the “Arab Spring” is all about people “demanding lives of democracy, dignity, economic opportunity, and involvement in the modern world.” What we’ve seen so far instead is the growing success of Islamist parties demanding a greater role for Islam and shari’a law in running their countries. Our failure of imagination that has reduced events in the Middle East to our own historical paradigms and ideals continues to compromise our foreign policy in that region, and endanger our national interests.

Muslim Brotherhood Rising
The Muslim Brotherhood?’s Freedom and Justice Party appeared to be a big winner in the first round of parliamentary elections held in Egypt on Monday and Tuesday. Early returns suggest the FJP captured as much as 40% of the vote with a surprisingly strong showing from the Salifist al-Nour party. The two Islamist parties together could very well make an absolute majority of 65% of the parliament, which means if voting continues along these lines during the rest of the complex process, it is likely that the first freely elected parliament in Egypt’s history will be run by radical Muslims.

Why Iran’s Top Leaders Believe That the End of Days Has Come – Rosenberg
Why would Iran authorize a major terrorist operation on American soil? Skeptics say the much-discussed “foiled” Iranian plot makes no sense. We will know soon enough if the Feds have sufficient evidence related to this specific plot. But Iranian leaders may, in fact, have a motive to accelerate direct attacks on the U.S.: Shia Islamic eschatology, or “End Times” theology.

Arab Spring Leads to Winter of Islamist States
Recent events demonstrate that the so-called Arab Spring uprisings have toppled three North African tyrants that may be replaced by Islamist regimes. President Barack Obama deserves some credit if that happens, and the consequences could be devastating.

Cataclysmic War Coming to Mid East
War is on its way in the Middle East as Muslim countries are determined to force a showdown over the future of Israel, Ronald Reagan’s assistant defense secretary Frank Gaffney warned in an exclusive Newsmax.TV interview.
“I’m afraid there’s a war coming, a very serious, perhaps cataclysmic regional war,” he said. “It will be presumably over, at least in part, the future existence of the state of Israel. It may involve all of its neighbors, as they have in the past, attacking Israel to try, as they say, to drive the Jews into the sea.

Egypt may cancel peace with Israel, says Jordan’s king
It’s not only Israeli analysts who fear that even the cold peace between their country and Egypt may be in danger as Islamic forces rise in the wake of Egypt’s revolution.
Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Wednesday told the Washington Post that there is a “very strong possibility” that following upcoming elections, Egypt’s new rulers will revoke the Camp David Accords.

Obama’s Misplaced Mideast Optimism – Pipes
Confidently commenting on the execution of Libya’s long-time dictator, Barack Obama stated that “the death of Mu’ammar al-Qaddafi showed that our role in protecting the Libyan people, and helping them break free from a tyrant, was the right thing to do.” About his own decision to pull all U.S. troops from Iraq in two months’ time, Obama asserted that “In Iraq, we’ve succeeded in our strategy to end the war.” He then drew triumphalist conclusions from these developments, bragging that they show “The tide of war is receding” and “we’ve renewed American leadership in the world.”
