Spiritual Deception

wolfinsheepsdiscernmentcover_dsJesus said on the Mount of Olives (Matt. 24) that deception would be the primary cultural sign of the last days. Even some of God’s “elect” might be deceived by false theologies. “Good would be called evil and evil good” (Isaiah 5:20). Men would substitute light for darkness and darkness for light. Apostasy would consume churches and denominations that were once solid.

Glenn Beck and Jim Wallis Are Both Pushing Social Justice and an Earthly Kingdom

Am I on the only one that watched Glenn Beck’s 8-28 rally with red flags going up non-stop? The mixture of Glenn’s Mormon theology wrapped in Christian terms, combined with some of the Christian speakers made me very uncomfortable.  The patriotic ecumenicalism was very unbiblical.

The dominion theology of some Christians, combined with the “Kingdom of God” theology of Mormonism, combined with all faiths uniting and wrapped in the flag reveals that a one-world religion and a one-world leader will be easily accepted even by people calling themselves Christians.

A SUBTLE AND DANGEROUS SHIFT IN CHRISTIANITY

It seems everyone’s practicing yoga meditation these days. Physicians recommend it to their patients which means it’s beneficial…right? Meditation is said to relieve stress, anxiety, hypertension, acne and post-nasal drip, so go for it! Just tighten those abdominal muscles, inhale deeply and chant Maaaaaaaaa all in one breath and your concerns will drift away like a feather floating on the wind…

But what if you’re a Christian? Should you practice the same sorts of things as Buddhist, Hindu’s and New Agers?

The Church of Climate Change: Here Comes the Green Shepherd – June 23
Just when we think there can’t be another movement to invade our church pulpits, we find one waiting in the wings. So while we’ve had our fill of “seeker-sensitive,” “purpose driven,” Emergent heresy, church-growth nonsense, and mystical madness, we now have to brace ourselves for the “church of climate change.” Like the others listed above, the church of climate change is not biblical. Nor will it get anyone into heaven or draw anyone closer to the Lord. Of course believers in the church of climate change would disagree.

Saddleback Promotes “Christianized” Mantra Meditation

Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church website features two books by Quaker and mystic Richard Foster, today’s leading proponent of something known as “Spiritual Disciplines” or “Spiritual Formation.”  Also promoted are several other books focusing on the Spiritual Disciplines, which teach a practice that is nothing more than a “Christianized” version of mantra meditation, a pagan practice borrowed from Hinduism and Buddhism.  In this pagan practice, a person will “empty” the mind employing some kind of device: rhythmic music, repeating a word or phrase, focusing on breathing, etc., in an attempt to connect to God.

Cult following of ‘The Shack’ – WND

James B. De Young exposes obsessive devotion to popular novel

James B. De Young is author of the newly released WND Books title “Burning Down the Shack.”

Q: Do the followers of “The Shack” comprise a cult?

A: There are certain characteristics of the people who love “The Shack” that suggest cultic-like devotion. Why would I suggest such a thing? Because the word “cult” suggests certain behavior and domineering personalities that have often arisen among Christians in the past. Remember Jim Jones and his People’s Temple cult in the 1970s? More than 800 adults and children committed suicide in blind devotion to their leader who could do no wrong and whose teaching was beyond questioning.

The New Apostasy Frontier

It is quite ironic that while a member of the left like Noam Chomsky would reject biblical truth, especially as it relates to Israel being a fulfillment of predictive prophecy, Chomsky himself unknowingly affirms many of those very prophecies.

The Last Days Apostasy of the Church
Apostasy is also a phenomenon that occurs internally within the church, is led by individuals considered the least likely candidates to depart from truth, can happen quickly, and is ultimately satanically energized. Moreover, apostasy is destructive in character and also has a deleterious impact upon those within the church who are attempting to remain faithful to God’s truth. The last two articles in this series will discuss a final characteristic of apostasy: apostasy negatively impacts those who have not taken preventive measures against it. This final characteristic is perhaps the most important to discuss since it explains what believers can do to insulate themselves from apostasy’s pernicious influence.

Pastor Bill Hybels’ Wife and Willow Creek Are Proud of Social Justice of Jim Wallis?
By Dr. David Noebel
Summit Ministries

I’ve been thinking … well, I’ve been reading and thinking. I’ve been reading Erwin Lutzer’s latest work, “When A Nation Forgets God: Seven Lessons We Must Learn From Nazi Germany.” Published by Moody Publishers, the Moody Church pastor analyzed how the church in Germany fell under the sway of Adolf Hitler. Here’s the bad news: “By far the majority of the Lutheran churches sided with Hitler and his spectacular reforms.” The good news: “But a minority, under the leadership of Bonhoeffer and Niemoller, chose to pull away from the established church to form the ‘Confessing Church.’”

Blair courts controversial US pastor Rick Warren in bid to unite faiths

Former prime minister builds network of Christian allies as he prepares to launch a religious ‘offensive’ in North America.

Tony Blair is preparing to launch a “faith offensive” across the United States over the next year, after building up relationships with a network of influential religious leaders and faith organisations.

With Afghanistan and Iraq casting a shadow over his popularity at home in Britain, Blair’s focus has increasingly shifted across the Atlantic, to where the nexus of faith and power is immutable and he is feted like a rock star.
