Why Islamic Moderates Are So Scarce – NRO – September 2
It goes back to a ninth-century theological dispute.
As past statements of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf continue to surface, many Americans have concluded that the would-be builder of a mosque at Ground Zero is lying when he calls himself a “moderate” representative of his faith. The more disturbing possibility, however, is that he’s telling the truth — that Rauf is indeed the voice of mainstream Islam.
One indication is the resounding silence from the rest of the Islamic community. If that community were truly moderate — as we in the West understand the term — one might expect it to distance itself from a man who blames the U.S. for the 9/11 attacks, says we have more innocent blood on our hands than al-Qaeda, and refuses to disown the genocidal agenda of Hamas.

After November – NRO – September 2
To the victor go the spoils; this year’s spoils are enormous.
Presume, for a moment, that Republicans have a really good election cycle this year: Control of the House shifts away from the Democrats, and a Republican (John Boehner?) prepares to become speaker. The Democrats lose, or almost manage to lose, control of the Senate (which they hold today by a nine-seat margin). Republican governors-elect and state legislators–elect prepare to take their oaths in state capitols across America.
What will our political landscape look like if that comes to pass?

CAIR Suggests Tea Party, GOP Are Behind Nationwide Anti-Muslim Campaign
CNSNews.com) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is putting some of the blame on both the Tea Party and the Republican Party for what it sees as a growing tide of anti-Muslim anger. Departing White House Council Claims The Government Should ‘Spend More’ – September 2
CNSNews.com) - Christina Romer, the departing chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisors, said that the “only surefire ways” to increase demand in today’s economy are for “the government to spend more and tax less.” She also said that concern about the federal deficit cannot be an “excuse for leaving unemployed Americans to suffer.”

Uprooting Crosses, One By One – September 2
While the furor over the proposed mosque at Ground Zero has New York Gov. David Paterson offering public land as a peace offering, a more familiar symbol – the cross – is systematically being uprooted around the country.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit ruled Aug. 18 that placing crosses where Utah state troopers died violates the Establishment Clause.

The New Old World Order – Victor Davis Hanson – September 2
The post-Cold War new world order is rapidly breaking apart. Nations are returning to the ancient passions, rivalries and differences of past centuries.
Take Europe. The decades-old vision of a united pan-continental Europe without borders is dissolving. The cradle-to-grave welfare dream proved too expensive for Europe’s shrinking and aging population.

Current U.S. law allows this happen. It also allows known terrorists on the no-fly list to buy guns.

Obama’s Appalling Mistreatment of Israel – Limbaugh – August 31
As Israeli and Palestinian peace talks are scheduled to resume in Washington in a few days, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that Palestinian recognition of Israel as the Jewish homeland is an essential condition for peace. Completely reasonable, yet don’t keep your fingers crossed, especially with the Obama administration’s attitude toward Israel.

Spiritual Deception

Jesus said on the Mount of Olives (Matt. 24) that deception would be the primary cultural sign of the last days. Even some of God’s “elect” might be deceived by false theologies. “Good would be called evil and evil good” (Isaiah 5:20). Men would substitute light for darkness and darkness for light. Apostasy would consume churches and denominations that were once solid.
